Level descriptors reflect the strand specific enduring understandings by describing key knowledge, understanding and learning processes aligned to levels of learning achievement.

They explain the content to be taught and promote engagement in analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

Achievement standards indicate the quality of learning (the extent of knowledge, the depth of understanding and the sophistication of skills) students should typically demonstrate by a particular point in their schooling.

Strand: Christian Ethics – Personal and Social
As stewards of creation, God calls humanity to care for self and all of creation as a gift of love. CEL1-2E1	Describe ways in which Christians can share the responsibility of caring for all of God’s creation both human and other than human.	Explain what it means to be a steward of God’s creation; caring for self, others and creation.
Christians are called to be in right relationship with God, each other and creation. CEL1-2E2	Identify the link between the choices we make and the effect these have on the relationship with self, others and creation and for the Christian, one’s relationship with God. Strand: Church and Tradition
The Church is a community of people who accept the invitation to follow Jesus, listen to the Good News and respond through word and action. CTL1-2E1	Explore and describe ways the invitation of Jesus is a call to Christians to gather, listen and respond.	Explain that Church is a community of people who respond to the Good News.
The Church celebrates Jesus’ life, death and resurrection in the many feasts and seasons of the liturgical year, with various Christian denominations bringing their own perspectives. Strand: God, Religion and Society
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit live in a community of mutual love. This is named as Trinity. Express an understanding of the Trinity as a core belief of Christians.

Christians are called to respect the diversity of belief systems and worldviews. GRSL1-2E3	Investigate how Christians demonstrate respect for diversity of worldviews.	Recognise respect for diversity in belief systems and worldviews.
Strand: Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments
Through various prayer forms, liturgy and sacramental encounters, people can grow in relationship with self, others, creation and God. PLSL1-2E1	Imagine and name ways Christians experience God in the everyday and prepare Christian rituals that reflect this encounter.	Describe opportunities where God can be encountered through prayer, liturgy and sacrament.
Baptism and Confirmation, as sacraments of Christian initiation, invite Catholic Christians to participate in the life of the Church. Strand: Scripture, Israel and Jesus
The Old Testament contains a variety of literary forms that explain the relationship between people and God. SIJL1-2E1	Examine and articulate the relationships that the people of Israel had with God.	Identify the relationship between people and God in the Old Testament.
Through the stories and teachings in the New Testament, Christians are shown how to live, pray, love God and each other. Name how Christian living reflects Jesus’ actions as found in the New Testament.
Parables have enduring wisdom to be interpreted in the context of the time in which they were told by Jesus. This allows people to hear the living voice of Jesus speaking into their lives and the world. SIJL1-2E3	Interpret God’s 'dream for the world' through the parables and identify the challenges this poses for Christians today.	Discern wisdom contained within parables and their relevance for today.
