Levels 1 and 2

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit live in a community of mutual love. This is named as Trinity.

Explore and imagine the relationship of the Trinity as a divine relationship of mutual love that invites the Christian into this circle of love.

Elaborations

Christians understand God as a single being, that is three-fold, but one. Christians have this understanding of God as Triune from Jesus who speaks about his father, “I and the father are one” (John 10:30). Jesus prays to the Father who sends the Holy Spirit, who is the love of the Father and of the Son. Christians are baptised “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). An understanding of the Trinity is regarded as mystery, which teaches about the nature of God.
