Strand: Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments (PLSL5-6E1)

Levels 5 and 6

A praying and sacramental Church nourishes and celebrates key moments in the lives of its members, the community and the wider world.

Discern the relationship between prayer, sacramental expressions and key moments in life.

Elaborations

There is a distinct difference between the Church’s understanding of Sacraments, Sacramentals and Sacramentality. Prayer, sacramental expressions and key moments in life (birth, new beginnings, loss, death, natural disasters, human tragedy, Liturgical Seasons) are times when the presence of God is being celebrated and the community is nourished. These expressions sustain the life of the Christian.
