Elaborations

Catholic social teaching (CST) is based on the belief that God has a plan for creation, a plan to build God’s kingdom of peace, love and justice. CST offers a way of thinking, being and seeing the world. It provides a vision for a just society in which the dignity of all people is recognised, and those who are vulnerable are cared for. CST is arranged around certain themes or ‘Principles’ which developed as the Church addressed different social issues over its long history. Each generation is invited to read ‘the signs of the times’, address urgent social questions and contribute to the greater good of society.
